Blood rules, of Stephen King

The thing of packing four short novels under the same creative umbrella already goes from old in a Stephen King that in the absence of more stories with which to cover his time gained to the fourth dimension or the devil himself, he manages as best he can with his overflowing imagination.

I say the packing of four by four for its Vivaldian composition of the Four seasons dark version. Those four short stories "Hope, Eternal Spring", "Summer of Corruption", "The Autumn of Innocence" or "A Winter's Tale" they are plots with a superior entity, all of them outstanding as to be configured as independent works. But is that King is something else ...

On this occasion, if the creative sustenance is oriented towards remote but powerful energies that govern us, and that could be planning an evil intervention (to the events of this 2020 I refer), in that case Stephen King makes the due pack and throws wick with a collection the more disturbing. We can only enjoy the genius in case one day he runs out of his infinite talent.

The more bloody and violent the news, the more it attracts people's attention: "Blood rules." So reads the journalistic maxim that will make Holly Gibney, the detective whom Bill hodges bequeathed his Finders Keepers agency, and one of the characters most loved by fans of Stephen King, becomes interested in the massacre at the Albert Macready High School and ends up hooked on the news. This time she must fight against what she fears the most… and this time alone.

Although Holly, who already appeared in the trilogy "Bill Hodges" and in The visitor, stars in his first big solo case in the story that gives title to this volume, three more stories make up this book. In "Mr. Harrigan's Telephone" a friendship between two people of very different ages endures in a more than disturbing way. "The Life of Chuck" offers us a beautiful reflection on the existence of each one of us.

And in "The Rat" a desperate writer faces the darker side of ambition.

Four stories in which Stephen King once again surprises readers and leads them to intriguing as well as awe inspiring places.
