Sacramento, by Antonio Soler

That the poles attract is a dictation of physics. From there the mother of all our contradictions. The extreme positions in the human end up joining with that unstoppable sensation of magnetism or inertia. Good and evil expose their catalogs of principles and temptations and everything ends up being drawn to the same point as our sun to its planets.

I know, a completely free dissertation to address essences of this story between faith and perversion, religion and the flesh ... A succulent fictionalized biography of a character who expresses his faith as the end of a Eucharistic intercourse. Communion between bodies like the flesh of Christ. The arrival at the other extreme is the shortest path when the positive and the negative approach that point of no return in which everything is thrown towards the inalienable union.

A novel by Antonio Soler or rather a chronicle of events combed over the years. A portrait of that morality that sometimes ends up exploding between restrictions, self-impositions and sins also close to virtue from the opposite pole, like almost everything that exists and its opposite value ...

A real event. Carefully hidden from the darkness of the fifties until now. A priest whom a part of the city considered a saint. Many had him for an enlightened one. For others, he was no more than a depraved man who used religion to fulfill the darkest desires. Was the altar used for his martyrdom or for a sacrilegious desecration?

Spiritual elevation, sensual ceremonies, erotic marriages, orgies. Secrecy, managed by the Franco regime and by the Church, involved this character, Hipólito Lucena. A boy who entered the seminary chasing the shadow of Saint Bruno, asceticism, silence, and ended up wrapped in a legend of perversion. This is his story.
