The wonderful glasses, by Sara García de Pablo

I was one of the "lucky" children who wore glasses from very early on, and even a patch to try to wake up the lazy eye. So a book like this would surely have come in handy to turn my "magnifying glasses" into a magical element with which to arouse the fascination of my schoolmates.

A friend told me about this book and I wanted to bring it to my blog because children's literature is more necessary today than ever. We cannot entrust the imagination of children to screens of any kind. Because finally they kidnap that imagination. Truly, only an activity like reading can awaken the spark from a very young age. It is not only about imagination but also about critical vision and empathy. A good reading like "The wonderful glasses" participates in the mission to recover the little ones for the reading universe.

Illustrations as successful and captivating as this one are responsible for harmonizing reading and image, in a very successful and even precious set.

Discovering the wonderful glasses…

For the rest, let the author herself, Sara García de Pablo, give us more details:

It is an illustrated story from the Cocatriz children's collection of the Mariposa Ediciones publishing house, recommended for children between 3 and 10 years of age. The author of it, Sara García de Pablo was born in León in 1986. In her youth she became interested in literature by collaborating with the magazine “Diente de León”. She currently combines writing with her teaching job.

Plot:

What would you do if one day you found some magic glasses? She accompanies the children of Sara's class while they try them on and find authentic wonders around them. Enjoy an amazing excursion with them where they will learn many things about others and also about themselves. But do not trust yourself, as in any trip there will be setbacks. Will they solve them? You'll have to read to the end to find out.

Other interesting facts:

Something that should not go unnoticed is the wide variety of children that can be found on the pages of the book. If you pay attention, you will see children who are tall, short, blond, dark-haired or red-haired, but also with glasses, with a cochlear implant, toothless, lazy-eyed... come on, the reality of a class.

Another important fact is that throughout history, self-esteem, empathy, care for the environment, recycling and responsibility are worked on, with large doses of creativity and imagination.

In addition, on the book flaps there is a QR code that allows access to complementary material: Reading comprehension, hobbies, writing sheets, crafts... Without a doubt, the most interesting thing is that you can download the book with pictograms adapted with the easy reading method , so that all children can enjoy it regardless of its characteristics. And two other super striking elements are the curiosities about the book and the wonderful glasses themselves ready to print, cut out and assemble.

If you want to enjoy this jewel with your little ones, you can get it from the editorial itself Butterfly Editions Or look for it in your usual bookstore.
